			<description>Data and related resources must be described using the SPASE data model (http://www.spase-group.org)  before they can be registered with the VMO. These descriptions (metadata) are generally kept in the [[XML]] format and therefore just about any text editor can be used to produce and modify the descriptions. However, this article recommends several metadata editors that make the editing more convenient.
